Thomas Kavanagh

Thomas Kavanagh was born on 13th September 1906 at Gregg's Hill, Arklow, to John (Jack) Kavanagh and Julia Loughlin. 

His birth was registered on 28th September 1906 by Eliza Tyrrell, who was present at the birth.

1911 Census

By 1911, the family had moved to Money Big, where Thomas was listed residing in a three-roomed, slate-roofed house alongside his parents and siblings; John, Terence, Elizabeth, Maria, Esther, Annie and Maryanne.

1926 Census

By 1926, nineteen-year-old Thomas was residing with his family at Pearse Terrace. He was "not yet at work".

Marriage to Theresa Martin

On 10th May 1939, Thomas married Teresa Martin, daughter of Michael, at the Roman Catholic Church of Templerainey. 

At the time of their wedding, Thomas was working as a labourer and residing at 7 Liam Mellows Avenue, Arklow, while Teresa, a domestic worker, was living on Shelton Avenue. 

The ceremony was witnessed by James Browne and Thomas's sister, Esther Kavanagh.

Thomas passed away on 21st August 1989 at the age of 82 while residing at Church View, Arklow. He was laid to rest at St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Arklow.
