Michael Connors

Michael Connors was born on 2nd May 1904 at Askintinny to James Connors and Mary Kavanagh. 

His birth was registered on 29th June 1904 by Sarah Massy of Fair Green, who was present at his birth.

As a young boy, Michael grew up surrounded by extended family in Askintinny

Aged 7, Michael was enumerated at the family home in Askintinny. He was living with his widowed grandmother Elizabeth Kavanagh, his mother Mary, and his younger brothers John and Thomas.

Following in his father's maritime footsteps, Michael spent his working life as a sailor out of Arklow. He married and had a family, including a daughter named Sheila.

In April 1956, Michael's father, James Connors, passed away at Rockview Terrace aged 82. Michael was present at his passing and registered his father's death. Just five years later, Michael himself passed away at 4 Rockview, showing the address remained the central family home.

Michael passed away on 20th September 1961 at 4 Rockview, Arklow, at the age of 57. His cause of death was certified as acute cardiac failure stemming from chronic valvular heart disease. His daughter, Sheila Connors, was present at his deathbed and registered his passing on 26th September 1961. Michael was a widower by the time of his death.
