Liam Gibson

William 'Liam' Gibson was born on 28 February 1925 at Abbey Street, Arklow, County Wicklow. He was the son of John Gibson, a stone-cutter and sett-maker, and Elizabeth Kavanagh.

Registered as "William" on 31 March 1925 by Margaret Long of Back Street, Arklow, who was present at the birth. His father's occupation is recorded as Stone-Cutter.

1926 Census of Ireland

Recorded as a 1-year and 1-month-old infant son living at House 20, St. Brigid's Terrace, Arklow, with his parents and five older siblings.

Marriage to Virginia Redmond

Liam married Virginia Redmond on 26 December 1945 at the Roman Catholic Church of Arklow. At the time of marriage, Liam was recorded as working as a Factory Worker, residing at 20 Abbey Street, Arklow. His father is confirmed as John Gibson (Sett-Dresser). Virginia Redmond was a minor spinster (aged 19) residing at 4 Coolgreany Road, Arklow, daughter of the late George Redmond (Bricklayer).

The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Michael Behan P.P., with Patrick Joseph Clancy and Liam's sister, Elizabeth Gibson, serving as witnesses.

Liam passed away in September 1999 at the age of 74 in Chorley, Lancashire, England.
