John McDonald

John McDonald was born on 24 January 1918 at The Warrens, Arklow, County Wicklow. He was the eldest child of James McDonald, an engineer, and Sarah Kavanagh.

Registered in the district of Arklow on 27 March 1918. The record notes his birth place as The Warrens, Arklow, with his father listed as James McDonald (Engineer) and his mother as Sarah McDonald, formerly Kavanagh. The birth was reported by Marcella Doyle, present at birth, of Lower Tinahask.
